Who are we?

Our Story

Hi, I'm Pei-Chi 👋

I'm the owner and founder of MIMI & SOSO, a Canadian pet treat company inspired by my two dogs, Mia and Sophie, the "MIMI" and "SOSO" behind our name.

I started MIMI & SOSO in 2020 as a passion project during the COVID-19 pandemic while working full-time in Corporate Finance. What began as a small business selling handmade dog bandanas soon evolved into something much bigger: a mission to create high-quality pet products while giving back to the animal community.

In 2022, I shifted my focus to healthy, single ingredient freeze dried pet treats. As a pet parent myself, I believe pets deserve simple, nutritious treats made with ingredients you can trust.

In the summer of 2024, I took a leap of faith and left my corporate career to pursue MIMI & SOSO full-time. Today, with the support of my husband and parents, we've grown into a family-run business dedicated to providing the very best for pets and their families.

Giving back remains at the heart of everything we do. To date, we've donated over $8,000 to animal rescues across Canada, and we're committed to continuing that mission as we grow.

aka my wonderful husband 🫶

My husband is the muscle behind MIMI & SOSO. He's usually the one loading the vehicle, setting up our market booth, taking everything down at the end of the day, and making sure I don't forget to eat or drink water!

More importantly, he's been my biggest supporter from day one. His encouragement, patience, and belief in my vision made it possible for me to turn a passion project into a full-time business. I couldn't have done this without him!

Mia & Sophie's Grandpaw (My Dad) 👨🏻‍🍳

Since his official retirement in 2022 my dad has become the powerhouse behind all our kitchen prep. A retired chef with incredible knife skills, he helps transform hundreds of pounds of raw ingredients into the treats your pets love. If you've ever wondered how we keep up with production, he's a big part of the answer!

Mia & Sophie's Grandmaw (My Mom) ❤️

My mom is the one making sure my dad and I don't survive on coffee alone during busy prep days. She's also constantly discovering new and interesting foods for us to experiment with, helping inspire future products. Her love, support, and enthusiasm are a huge part of what makes MIMI & SOSO a true family business.
